Well, aside from the sexism, the frontier-era machismo, the religious liberties violation, and the part where he all but said that police officers have more important things to do with their time than protect and serve, I think this is a grand idea:

Good thing there are no United Methodist seminaries in Cherry Tree, PA.

Once upon a time, back when I was still registered to vote in the state of Oregon, some folks tried to put a measure on the ballot that would have required this for the entire state.

I'm not sure if it got past the petition stage, but still ...

It would make a good first vs. second amendment test case, though: does the constitution guarantee the right not to bear arms? I would expect the courts to say so.
